Full schedule for IPL 2020 is out, MI take on CSK in opening match

The two most successful franchises Mumbai Indians and CSK (Chennai Super Kings) are going to battle as IPL opener 2020. These teams will play as IPL opener 2020 on September 19th, 2020 in UAE, these are the announcements made by BCCI. These announcements were lifted up by BCCI on Sunday when the whole world was finding updates about the SSR case. Further BCCI clarified that the opening match is going to take place in Abu Dhabi and that too between Mumbai Indians and CSK.

Probing further, due to the pandemic this 13th edition of the IPL match is going to take place in three different venues of the UAE. The first venue in Abu Dhabi, then Dubai, and lastly Sharjah. Dubai is going to host around 24 round-robin matches but Abu Dhabi and Sharjah will host 20 and 12 matches respectively. After the tournament opener on Saturday Dubai will host its first game on Sunday when Delhi Capitals take on Kings XI Punjab. Therefore, this is going to be followed by a third match on Monday between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Hence, on 22nd September the IPL action will take a shift to Sharjah.

All the franchises have reached UAE in advance so that they can undergo strict quarantine and COVID testing properly. However, there are no doubts that CSK has reported with 13 COVID positive cases, including two cricketers. They all are under observation of the doctor so there is no need to worry at all. CSK has cleared all the COVID testing rounds so they are very much fine to start with the training only two players are kept under isolation. As soon as they get negative reports they will go back and join the training with others. Now, let’s have a closer look at all the match dates.
