Maria on Her Come Back Rocks the Court

Maria Sharapova, the Russian tennis player wins the second match on her comeback from a 15-month long ban. She won her match by defeating the world No. 43 Ekaterina Makarova in straight sets in the second round of her match. She is a prodigy to the sports world and its fan. She holds the title of five-time Grand Slam Winner.

It was indeed an interesting match to watch as it was Maria’s stunning comeback in which she defeated her fellow, Ekaterina at the Stuttgart WTA tournament. The 30-year-old Maria was very happy with hr win as she had successfully executed the plan that she has made. Despite her win, her comeback is considered as controversial and also has a wild card to play in the match of Stuttgart, the place where she has been a champion three times.
Upcoming hurdle to clear.

Her next match is on Friday where she will face Estonian qualifier Anett Kontaveit as her opponent. Anett has beaten Garbine Muguruza of Spain in the second round, to land up with a place in the semi-finals. Garbine holds a position of the French open champion. When asked about Anett, Maria replied,”I have not played her yet, but really looking forward to it as she is just one of those few girls I have never encountered with. It will be a good match and a great opportunity for both of us “.

In Wednesday’s first round Maria defeated Robert Vinci when she was eligible to play after testing positive for a medium at the 2016 Australian Open.

Maria, who hit nine aces and 29 winners against Ekaterina showed her confidence and improvement. She has been better with her techniques and skilled. She has successfully made her name in the top players but still, there is something that is lacking behind. She needs to be more polished before facing Anett. Still, there is some work that needs to be done as Maria had double faults during her match and also made 19 unforced errors. These mistakes should be observed minutely and then corrected so that she can play better in her next matches.

The 30-year-old shrugged off criticism of fellow players, who alleged her that she was sending wrong signals to the youngsters. She was also shot with a question on her character stating that what took her so long in the locker room? To which she replied calmly that she used to take a bath and get all her stuff needed. She also said that she don’t need a locker room to make friends she has a lot of friends at home and a lovely family.

Maria was hit with many questions that were irrelevant and showed the jealousy of her other mates and foes. There is a long journey for her to make. The criticism and back-stabbing will always be a part of her success and victories. Despite all this, she has proved that she overlooks such comments and is only focused on her future
